It is pretty bad. I played there a couple of weeks ago. The greens are definitely, shall we say, challenging. I had one putt that hit something...probably dirt.. and bounced straight up and another straight to the right...both were pretty good putts...of course. Still, it is a good place to practice your short game. Their are lights. However, I don't think they actually work. Stay out of the patch of woods on the 11th and 12th holes. I think they're inhabited...at least that's the legend. I played my first ever round of golf at Melrose....30 years ago or there abouts so it has a special place in my memories.
