Trivia Contest – May 2010 – Part 1
Contest is closed. The correct answer is “B” – The ball is in play when the player has made a stroke with the ball from within the teeing ground. The question and answer were taken from the Rules section of USGA.org. Congrats to Ron Kurtz, who was chosen at random from the 15 correct answers. Have fun with your free round at Clear Creek.
Last month, we had a lot of participation in the trivia contest pertaining to the Rules of Golf. Honestly, I’ve browsed through and read that booklet a number of times, but I’m still always confused on exact rulings. One club-length or two? Drop or place? Etc, etc. Here’s a good one that shouldn’t be too hard.
The ball is in play, when the player has:
(A) taken his stance and grounded his club on the teeing ground.
(B) made a stroke with the ball from within the teeing ground.
(C) placed the ball on a tee peg within the teeing ground.
(D) found the ball at rest out of bounds.
Out of all the correct answers, there will be a random drawing to select the winner of One Free Round at Clear Creek Golf Club*.
