Clear Creek Golf Winner

The first trivia contest of May 2010 ended yesterday. There were 15 correct answers. As a reminder, the question was:
The ball is in play, when the player has:
(A) taken his stance and grounded his club on the teeing ground.
(B) made a stroke with the ball from within the teeing ground.
(C) placed the ball on a tee peg within the teeing ground.
(D) found the ball at rest out of bounds.
The correct answer is “B”, as dictated by the Ball in Play definition in the Rules of Golf:
A ball is “in play” as soon as the player has made a stroke on the teeing ground. It remains in play until it is holed, except when it is lost, out of bounds or lifted, or another ball has been substituted, whether or not the substitution is permitted; a ball so substituted becomes the ball in play.
Thanks to the USGA site as a great resource for Rules questions and answers.
The winner, chosen at random from the correct entrants, is….
Ron Kurtz
Congrats to Ron for winning a free round of golf at Clear Creek Golf Club and thanks to Chris Lacher at Clear Creek for helping to organize this.
The next contest will be starting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 18th, so check back then. Also, you can see all the results from past contests on the Houston Golf Nut Contest page.
