Golf Boys Video
You’ve probably already seen this, but if you haven’t, I guess it’s golf’s version of The Village People.

City looking to keep its golf courses out of the hole

Read this good article in the Chron today about municipal golf courses in Houston.
By Chris Moran
Every time someone tees up at Brock Park Golf Course, it costs city taxpayers about $20.
Over the five years ending in mid-2010, those losses added up to $2.3 million, according to a recent city auditor’s report.
Brock Park’s greens long have been in the red. The latest documentation of its losses surfaced as the City Council prepared to cut $100 million in spending, in part by laying off 747 employees.

The Westin La Cantera Resort – San Antonio
Everyone knows the four necessities in life are food, clothing, shelter and golf. Not necessarily in that order. Here at the La Cantera we’re serious about the game. How serious? We enlisted the one and only Arnold Palmer to create our championship course: The Palmer Course at La Cantera. This 6,926-yard, par 71 masterpiece winds through the Texas Hill Country and offers the ultimate test of ability. It’s adjacent to yet another stunner, The Resort Course at La Cantera, previous home of the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open.

And when you’re not testing your skills, hone them at our on-site Golf Academy, headed by Mike Vardeman. A wide variety of programs ensure player improvement at every skill level, with customized instruction available on request.
